last round up

Well, maybe pen-penultimate round up.... We have a couple more finishers - "hip! hip!" for Emily and Flan - and "hooray!" for these finished sock saviors:

Allie has finished sock savior socks!
Erin finished sock savior socks (in one of my favorite yarns!).
Sarah sent off a wonderful sock savior package to her second pal.

And on an only tangentially related note, I have bought my last skein of pink sock yarn. I have had a serious pink sock yarn craving the last few months. Pink, pink, pink. I haven't even knit a pair of pink socks yet, but I clearly want to.

Regia, Koigu, Ultramerino, Trekking, Seacoast Handpainted, Shelridge Farms, Lornas, Regia

The most recently purchased skein, bought at the store over the weekend, is Seacoast Handpainted "Cherry Fizz" (it's the red-pink one by the Trekking). I've spent weeks telling people to buy this yarn so I wouldn't have to. They didn't. So I bought it and told myself it has to be my last skein of pink sock yarn. Well, perhaps my pen-penultimate skein....

I have quite a bit of pink sock yarn myself, and I haven't made any pink socks yet either. My favorite is a skein of Cherry Tree Hill yarn that I would love to use, but I want to find the perfect pattern. Until then, it's too precious to use. Love that Cherry Fizz!

Oh, my, your pink sock yarn stash looks like my Retroy Pinky sock bags!

Posted by: trek at June 13, 2006 9:04 AM

*sigh* My sock pal told me a couple weeks ago anonymously that she was sending them in the mail. Haven't received them yet but still hoping.

Posted by: Jen at June 13, 2006 9:31 AM

Thank you Alison for organizing the whole swap but especially for remembering those who didn't receive socks, we appreciate it!!

There is no such thing as too much pink sock yarn. That's heresy. ;-)

Seacoast Handpainted is new to me... must check it out! Thanks. :-)

I have a pink sock thing too, and I haven't made any socks out of my pink collection either. Hummmm, I may need to start some today!

Posted by: Jenn at June 13, 2006 10:19 AM

Pls start w/the pink & yellow yarn on the far right side pls! Pink is my fav color (love pink/orange together too, but that's your mystery project).

how strange i've been thinking of pink socks lately also.

What a great selection of pinkish sock yarns! I'm not a pink person, but have a friend who has some Socks That Rock in "Hot Flash" colorway (very hot pinks) she wants to unload, so I think I'll take her up on it. My sister-in-law loves pink, perhaps these socks will be for her. :-)

The pink yarn is beautiful. I seem to be on a burgundy fix at the moment. I keep forcing myself to buy blues every so often to mix it up.

More pink sock yarn, (and even more pink sock yarn) is calling to me. Help!

Posted by: alison at June 13, 2006 12:27 PM

Mmm, love that pink and brown one!

A note from a former English teacher: "ultimate" means final, "penultimate" is one step before final, "antepenultimate" a step before that, and "preantepenultimate" a step before that. I know, info you didn't really want, but I can't help it! I am usually a lurker, I enjoy your blog. Thanks!

Ooh... love the pink sock yarn. I agree - while I may tire of other colors, there can never be too much pink sock yarn!

My sock pal Jennifer received her socks (second pair I sent) today. I am so relieved that they got there this time. I am not sure if she will post but I know I feel better knowing they arrived.

Thanks, Tola. I love all those -ultimate words! I knew myself much too well to say ultimate and wasn't sure that anyone would understand me if I wrote antepenultimate, so I went with the extra pen- for clarity and grammar-flouting fun. ;0)

I say you can never have enough pink sock yarn!! I love the colors you have there and can't wait to see some of them knit up! Go Alison!

Maybe there's something pink in the air. I was on a real pink streak in my yarn acquisitions until someone privy to the contents of my stash told me to stop. She told me in the middle of our LYS. Sometimes we all need tough love.

Posted by: Kirstin at June 14, 2006 1:26 AM

I do that too! I also tell others to buy the yarn so it hopefully won't end up in my own stash. If I actually bought everything I wanted, my paycheck from the LYS I work at would be gone and the store wouldn't have much yarn left for customers.

Nice sock yarn! Pink sock yarn looks so alluring, doesent it?
Thankyou for the response on the Sock Situation, I will sit tight and wait for my (seemingly MIA) socks, comforting myself with "the first shall be the last and the last" etc. etc. and waiting for the next Sock a Pa looza :)

We use lots of pink sock yarn at my house! (Serious estreogen overload...) Probably half the socks I knit are pink. And besides, pink is now cool for men and boys to wear too, so you can run up some socks in the Trekking for your boyz.

I too have been on an incurable pink jag. That is some seriously sexy sock yarn you have there! My pink lust is going crazy right now.

Posted by: the kitchener bitch at June 14, 2006 1:30 PM

It's anti-penultimate, actually. I am so into the trekking lately, not so much pink. Enjoy!

Posted by: Alana at June 15, 2006 4:44 AM

I love all of these skeins! Wow, beeeautiful choises!

Posted by: Hanna at June 15, 2006 11:18 AM

Where do you get the oattern for the flip flop socketts? I went to the sight - not in English! Can you help?

Thanks
