it's enough to make you feel sick

Since we've been back, it seems like we've done nothing but visit doctors. Somehow all of our regular visits got scheduled for right after our trip. There was the boys' 5-yr checkup, my annual doctor visit, a follow-up with a specialist, and today we're all scheduled for our dental exam. One day last week I even had to go twice because the phlebotomist forgot to draw blood for some panel and had to stick me again. I've been over to the hospital and medical areas so much now, that I'm beginning to imagine there's something wrong with me!

Then there's the jetlag, which has been particularly harsh this time. The boys wake up early and want to play board games all morning (their current favorite is Monza). Then it's hot and humid all day and by about 7pm, we all look like this:

can we watch one more showzzzzzzzzz
(current favorite show: How It's Made)

All my usual knitting time has been lost to fuzzy-headed game playing, medical poking and prodding, unsatisfying sleep, and general malaise. I need another vacation.

He looks so grown up! Know what you mean about life getting in the way of knitting... all I've managed in the last four days is two gauge swatches!

Wow - sounds just like my house only we just have a flu bug on the loose. Hope you're all feeling rested and better soon. I miss your knitting adventures... but did love the sites of Europe!

We somehow got everything scheduled in August too: dentist, allergist, podiatrist, optomotrist. I live in the land of "-trist".

Monza! That's been a favorite in our house for about 6 months.

Yes, a vacation to recover from one's vacation is often quite necessary.

We have blokus, http://www.blokus.com/index.htm ,here.

We seemed to have a lot of August Dr. visit too. Doctors must have a hard time getting vacation time.lol.

I love How It's Made! Canadian programming at its best.

My boys love How It's Made! It's an interesting show to watch. Did you see the one on how they make buttons? There's also one on how to make yarn. My boys also like Mythbusters and Mean Machines.

Iv'e heard it said more than once and felt it as well, you need a vacation after the vacation.
:-)
I hope all the check ups come up fine.

Have you played Carcasonne with them yet? This is a great favorite at our place. I picked up a new (for us) Gamewright card game, Loot, to play on our flight to Vancouver.

5 year checkups...does that mean kindergarten??

I like that How It's Made show, too, but want even MORE detail on how things are made!

I often schedule an extra day or two off after a trip before returning to work--vacation to recover from my vacation!!!
