retro prep

I've just started teaching a new sock class at the store and since I needed a sock to start along with my students, I picked up my still packed swim cap bag and pulled out the retro prep yarn I dyed for my dye swap pal and myself.

Wow, I can't believe that I made that. Too cool.

Super-duper too cool! Great job. I'd swear that you had three different balls of yarn going if you hadn't told us otherwise. Yeah!

I love the colors. You did an awesome job.

Posted by: Carole at August 11, 2006 10:48 AM

Posted by: ~Jo~ at August 11, 2006 11:28 AM

Posted by: erin at August 11, 2006 11:44 AM

Ya...that's how I feel when I knit yarn I've dyed myself. I really like yours, too.

Posted by: Jeanne at August 11, 2006 11:54 AM

That is beautiful. I can't believe you dyed that yourself. I want that yarn!

Posted by: Ari at August 11, 2006 11:55 AM

Yes, that is fabulous! Very cool that you made that. Our daughter would love it, as we just painted her room those colors upon her request.

Posted by: neysa at August 11, 2006 12:04 PM

You did an awesome job on those stripes! And of course the colors are just too fun :)

Posted by: Vicki at August 11, 2006 12:05 PM

I LOVE IT. The only thing better than socks from that yarn would be knee socks from that yarn.

Posted by: Ashley at August 11, 2006 12:06 PM

WOW. Even better than I thought!

Posted by: Daphne at August 11, 2006 12:06 PM

Posted by: mote at August 11, 2006 3:17 PM

Uuh, you wouldn't happen to have kept the directions on how you did that would you???

Share please if possible???

Posted by: knittingnurse at August 11, 2006 3:28 PM

Posted by: Erin at August 11, 2006 3:36 PM

You dyed that? What a great job!

Posted by: The Purloined Letter at August 11, 2006 3:38 PM

That is an amazingly crisp colour division, especially for a hand-dye! It came out perfectly. Kudos to you for a beautiful job--and in the perfect prep pattern/colours! Those socks just beg for an alligator shirt.

Posted by: Megan at August 11, 2006 5:16 PM

WOW great dye job!! I love the colors---great definition!

Posted by: Morgan at August 11, 2006 6:54 PM

Super fabulous socks! I feel like they should have a little polo player embroidered on the cuff... Great dye job!

You are The Amazing Fluffa!!!

That is the cutest yarn ever!!!

Hey...sorry about that....I just got back from a trip and I was making my blog rounds and I got your site mixed up with dear Fluffa's...

The striping is fantastic! Kudos! :-)

Posted by: Mary at August 11, 2006 10:32 PM

Gorgeous yarn! Love the colors - I'm partial to green anyways. I still think it's so cool how self-striping yarn works. Especially hand-dyed that comes out looking that awesome!

Posted by: Sheri at August 12, 2006 8:01 AM

That is too cool, man!!! Now all you need is a preppy alligator on it! LOL
Hugz!

Posted by: Rachel at August 12, 2006 9:58 AM

Ditto knitting nurse up there. If you posted how you did that on your blog somewhere, I missed it! I LOVE that yarn.

Posted by: Karla (threadbndr) at August 12, 2006 12:25 PM

That yarn is too cool for words! I love it!

Posted by: Chrissy at August 12, 2006 12:42 PM

I am in love with that yarn. If you ever decide to make & sell some, put me on the list - I'd love to make a baby hat & sweater for my granddaughter who will be born in about 3 months.

Posted by: Donna at August 12, 2006 2:24 PM

Ummmmm....How could you possibly have dyed that yarn so perfectly!?!?
What is your secret?
I am totally blown away by the perfection of those stripes.
Is there something I am missing?
I have 2 new skeins to dye so if there is something you could share with me I would love to know.

Posted by: Miss Scarlett at August 12, 2006 4:17 PM

The stripes sure are coming out fab.

Posted by: Orli at August 12, 2006 5:31 PM

Gorgeous colorway! Reminds me a bit of watermelon! Can't wait to see it finished!
