Großmutter's sweater is almost done! All I want to do is knit this sweater. It got slower when I hit all those body stitches and then joined in the sleeves for the yoke, but I can't stop.

oma knits
Hi, I am trying to get pregnant and would like to know if there is any way I could get this pattern. It is beautiful!! Please let me know. Thank you!
With my first baby girl (a February baby)I dressed her every day for the first three months in white terry sleepers and a different sweater/bootie/bonnet combination that either I had knit myself or that had been created by friends and the women of my family both present and past. She wore sets that had been knit for me when I was an infant and carefully stored in cedar chests for years. It was wonderful and practical and of course guests who came to visit loved seeing their handiwork in use - especially that which they had knit 30 years previous! Knitting can bridge time and distance and even the generations!
Adorable! Wow, small sizes = quick knits, less yarn = less money. What fun!! I think you need a trip to Ikea for a special dresser just for wee one's handknit wardrobe! Happy knitting!
Oh so cute!!!
I tried e-mailing you yesterday but don't know if it went through.
I love all of Marie's patterns for her girls. They are so precious. Your wee one is going to have a wardrobe to envy!
Oh my goodness, that is so lovely!
I just noticed that the stitch pattern is very similar to Hedera's (sock pattern from knitty.com). A pair of tiny Hedera socks would be really cute.
This is so adorable Alison! You should make one in Mommy size too! :)
Hi,
I've never commented on your blog before but felt compelled to comment on the cuteness of that sweater.
Be warned though - I knit rafts of things for my daughter. When she was an infant, and had no choice, she would where them. When she got old enough to express an opinion, if it wasn't pink or purple she wouldn't wear it.
omg, that is absolutely precious.
A truly beautiful heirloom for your baby girl.
I was actually going to send you a link to that daisy sweater, because I think it's so adorable. Somehow, I found it on a site where I had to pay $5 for it, and it only had sizes 6 and 12 mos. I was hoping to find it in a 4 or 6 to fit my dd. Your link had the size I need, so I'm so glad you shared it (even though I'm bummed that I wasted 5 bucks!)
This is absolutely beautiful! Your baby girl is going to be so very warm and adorablely dressed. :-)
this is wonderful and beautiful. I like the lace stitches.
So precious! I just found out today that my niece is pregnant, so lots of baby knitting is in my future!
OMG...that is so GORGEOUS and white becomes this pattern...I had some darling knits for my son when he was born, but not from Großmutter, as my mom past away when he was 3 wks old and my MIL didn't knit at the time (she only started recently)...no, my darling knits was from a 92 year old, GroßTante...I hope I wrote that correctly...yes, my dad's Aunt Lily. How amazing is that.
Oh its wonderful! So perfect for a wee one.
Aww. Absolutely precious. :)
