a very etsy christmas

I had a blast searching etsy this year for fun, funky Christmas gifts. Like ebay though, it can be overwhelming to search for stuff, so I wanted to tell you about some of the awesome sellers I found and the things I really loved.

First, monster shirts for the boys. These were the only clothes the boys didn't unwrap and then immediately toss aside on Christmas morning. (Actual quote: "Wow, I wonder what's in this one. I hope it isn't more clothes!") In fact, they asked to wear the monster shirts that day and the next. They're from NissaLissa. She sews these super cute monster faces on tees and onesies and did a custom order for me for the boys (note the favorite colors on the ears!). And I simply couldn't resist this little pink monster onesie for wee one to match.

And then I went amigurumi shopping for my friends. I found so much fun stuff, like the Ogilvies at Chez Michelle and the coolest amigurumi and softie seller ever jellibat. I was also very tempted by sock monkey items like this sock monkey dress, pretty girly things like this precious little smock dress, funny baby clothes like the cute creatures from Lemon Cadet and the most beautiful applique ever at Ponies & Sugar Cookies.

Etsy, good.

Wow, Alison, Thanks for all the etsy links. I am always looking for cute things for my grandchildren. I'm afraid that the boys had the same reaction to clothes as yours did. The older one complained at the extended family gathering that he only got one toy & the rest of the gifts were clothes. And, they have the largest room in the house (family room - about 12x20 feet) as their playroom - filled with toys! I love that cute monster onesie!

I thought the sock monkey dress would be a dress for a sock monkey to wear. Speaking of sock monkeys, check out this clever guy: http://www.sockit2me.com/vulcanmonkey.html
(no affiliation, just cracked up when I saw it and saved the link)

Thanks for sharing, there is just so much on etsy - parameters or direction - gladly taken. That and the sellers will surely appreciate the word o' mouth! I was just about to ask about sockapalooza (or is it sockapalooooza?) but read your side bar - so exciting, sock knitting in the new year!

I think that if your boys didn't have that reaction to clothes, I would worry.

I'm sorry: amigurumi?

Looks like they enjoy wearing these cute shirts! My Guy is into Motorcycles! I found that No Fear carries graphic t-shirts with cylces printed on them. I bet I wont be able to get him out of them!

Thanks for all the great recommendations! I love etsy but I too find it a little overwhelming at times. I especially love the pink onesie for the wee one. Looks like from all your postings that she will have a nice wardrobe to look forward to.

Have I ever told you how much I love the way your boys smile? They always seem so full of happiness.
