baby loves stripes

I couldn't help starting another Itty-Bitty Hat! This time it was the cotton stria hat.

I dug up all the tiny little scraps that I had leftover from Johanna's circle of friends blanket and jumped right in. Each of my scraps was good for only about two rounds in the hat, so I had A LOT of ends to weave in at the end, but it felt so cool to actually make something useful out of those tiny bits.

Dani had some aqua and orange and hot pink leftovers for me to throw in to the mix and the result is so adorably stripey, I can barely stand it!

And speaking of Dani, she was so inspired by all those cotton stria colors that she created a new sock yarn colorway for Sunshine Yarns based on them.

I think she's putting some of it up for sale in her store tomorrow! I grabbed a skein right off the production line, so to speak, for booties to match the hat. How perfect!

I love making hats, and I wish I could make one as cute as wee one's!

Do you have any pattern you would reccomend for a baby top if I have say, 3 skeins of Manos Cotton Stria? I actually have 6, 3 in a blue and 3 in a green so I could do stripes or solid...

The Stria is super soft and baby friendly, 18-20 stitches over 4" with 116 yards on each skien. Would love to here any reccomendations you might have for a baby knit, girl or boy or uni-sex.

Did I tell you that you've inspired me to buy that book? It should be here next week so there will be a UK baby wearing lots of funky hats here in March!

Sigh...I wish I lived in a cold climate so I could knit hats like these! :( LOVE the hats you've been knitting! Had to put the book on my wishlist just to dream.

That is just too cute. You'll have the best dressed baby on the block. I've always maintained that it is easier and more fun to knit for girls. Lucky you!

The hat is brill! I love the color rounds where you joined on the right side--I am going to have to try that. Its like seeing the inside on the outside--and adds to the general stripeyness of the whole thing!

Waiting with baited breath for opening of Sockapalooza. Love this swap--I've done it a few years and even sock saviored last year. I treasure my socks! But take care of yourself....

Another awesome hat! I'd love to see a picture of all the hats laid out together - This baby will never have a cold noggin :)

I love a good scrap-using project!

Gosh, super cute hat. I bet you could not only knit the matching booties, but socks for you too out of that skein.

That's an adorable hat, and I'm so impressed with Dani's ability to match random colors from all kinds of different skeins so perfectly. I may have to go check out Sunshine Yarns. Oh wait...I'm on a yarn diet. Blast!

Yet another adorable hat. :) Awesome. :)

That turquoise just pops along with all the other colors - cotton stria does have quite the palette. Then to have that yarn made, well that just takes the cake! By the way, is it just me or do things seem a little different around here - more blue. It could be that I was oblivious before, that, unfortunately is totally within the possibilities. So sad.

That's just like the picture, how very cute!

Pixie, if you've got Cotton Stria and are thinking of making a sweater, you should definitely check out the Minnowknits patterns! She almost always uses the cotton stria for her kids' patterns and they all have lots of fun stripes and colors.

Hey was just browsing the net and came across your blog. That hat is immense! I just found out my friend is 12 wks preggers so I may have to make this for her as I have a ridiculous amount of leftovers!

Love this one. Love it most in the top picture without the point...gosh...is it going to be cold when wee one arrives? my son was born in Jan...but after march or April I don't think I bothered with hats...then again...that's just me and my quirqs.
