This weekend, my best knitbuddies threw me a huge surprise baby shower.
I was shocked when I walked in and saw all my knitting pals and over a dozen pairs of knitted booties strung across the room like streamers!
So many different booties in different styles and sizes - wee one's feet will be quite literally covered!
Even the boys got the perfect gifts...

Lovely gifts! Neat idea for the booties streamers. It's nice when the older siblings get things, too. When I had my second one some friends made sure the sent the older one a little something, too. Helped cut down on jealousy.
Hooray! It looks like so much fun! What lovely gifts and lovely friends too. :) I love the shirts for the boys. They're perfect. :)
So sweet, your lucky to have such wonderful, thoughtful friends. (But you're wonderful and thoughtful to them ... what goes around, comes around). Love all that they did, but especially love the boys "Big brother t-shirts".
All those booties are so sweet!
What lovely gifts and such a nice surprise!! Those big brothers look ready, willing and able!!!

How sweet! Look at all those baby booties! :)
What awesome friends. I love the bootie idea, and so many clever colors and patterns. Congratulations!
What an amazing bounty of knitted goods! There will need to be multiple bootie changes a day! You make me want to join a knitting group again - not have a baby, I had one and now he is a toddler - oy!
Everyone should be so blessed to have such wonderful, talented and generous friends!
How sweet! The booties are such a great idea, love it!!!
Wow! You have some great friends:) Looks like it was a good time. The pictures made me smile!
Oh how kind! What a great idea to decorate with knitted booties - only knitters...
Love the shirts for the boys. They look pretty pleased themselves.
Oh how wonderful! It looks like great fun!
Aw, what great friends! That looks like a super fun shower. And the knits! the t-shirts might be my favorite part..
I am so impressed at the matching of the button on the shrug with the bonnet! You have a great knitting family!
so sweet :) Looks like you had a great time! What a blessing friends are :D
How great is that - knitters knitting for another knitter. The baby shrug is gorgeous - I love the colors. I've started really liking brown for babies, especially combined with pink or blue.
The booties are great, such a variety, you'll have to post and let us know which ones stay on and which don't!! The shrug is so good, I've been thinking about making one for my baby due in May - after seeing it I am inspired!!
That's such a great surprise, your child's feet will definitely be pampered in all of those adorable booties.
OMG! that is so nice of them!
and those booties are just too cute! so are the boys' tshirts! and looooove that shawl!
those lucinda guy books are so cute too! love the owl and the fox stuffed animals the best!
:o)
How sweet of them. We just had a girl at our shop have a baby. I made a delicious cashmere bonnet, and cheated and found a knit Mermaid at a local boutique. We've been picking it over trying to rewrite the pattern. I love your blog, and especially love all the fun projects you do with your boys.
Keep up the good work,
Danielle

That’s the coolest thing ever. What a great bunch of friends you have! I love the monkey the best. His face is adorable.
Awww...that lineup of bootees is so cute! Baby is going to be well-dressed!
How nice! I love the string of booties!
BTW, did you mattress stitch your circle of friends blanket together??? I'm almost done!
I was so sorry to miss you on Sat!! But, there was no leaving Disney early. The string of booties looks awesome! (as does that cake...) Am planning to be at KS on Sunday with yep, just what you need now --- ONE MORE PAIR of booties that never got to the string -- and a little sumptin else.... xo Thea

What fantastic pressies that you received. I love all the different baby booties, and the little bolero is just gorgeous. I have those 3 books, and they have wonderful wonderful things in them, so you will be quite busy knitting away.
Oh wow! All those booties are gorgeous! ~x~
those are very good friends.
I wish they would do baby showers here in Israel, not that anyone would throw me one…but still…Israel is too damn superstitious, you can't do anything till baby is born.
Gil likes pink also, the other day he wanted pink socks, I acctualy said, pink is for girls not boys...he disagreed...I hope I did the right thing by him, but I can't start buying him pink socks...problem is, we have very little to choose from for boys. It's all grey, black, green or navy.
That's awesome! You are going to LOVE those Lucinda Guy books...they have such cute patterns in them!
