And speaking of winners, the boys' nosewarmers are a huge hit! Every day that it's below freezing (like today) the boys insist on wearing them on our walk to school.

The crossing guards and the teachers at school all love them. Everyone smiles when they see the boys coming with their "nosehats" on!

The nosewarmers are hilarious. I think it's great that your boys like them so much!

Ha! I love that your boys love the nosewarmers -- enjoy them now, the day will come when they are too cool for such hilarity. They look so happy and cute.

The boys look so cute! I love the nosewarmers!

Haha, the nosewarmers are great. Brilliant idea for this weather!

Your boys always look so adorable!

Posted by: Tracey at January 22, 2007 11:55 AM

These are excellent. My daughter (16) asked me for some, but I had trouble creating them from scratch. Did you get the pattern from some where?

Posted by: Cheryl at January 22, 2007 11:58 AM

Yes, Cheryl, the pattern is from Knitty.com. They're very easy to make. Have fun!

Love the nosewarmers! I should make some for my two little boys, too--before they get too old to think they're uncool...

Posted by: Tracy WW at January 22, 2007 12:10 PM

If I saw your boys on my morning walk or commute wearing those nosewarmers, that would just make my day!

Posted by: Dani at January 22, 2007 12:24 PM

Congrats to all the winners. :)

I love those nosehats (but I've said that a million times) ... too cute! :)

Posted by: Samantha at January 22, 2007 12:39 PM

OMG, thanks! This is my first blog contest win! Wow. I love the sweater, it came out really adorable. And of course the nosewarmers are great, your kids look like they love them. Love the name "nosehats!"

Love the nosehats! Cute and practical!

Posted by: Sarah at January 22, 2007 1:47 PM

OK, that is just too adorable!!!!!

Posted by: Elinor at January 22, 2007 3:48 PM

Alison, you guys just crack me up, for real. Like Dani, seeing that in person would just so make my cold Boston morning. We must arrange for a nosewarmer parade! :) ~gabriella

The boys look adorable - but I suspect that in another 10-12 years they will be hiding those pictures!

Posted by: D at January 22, 2007 3:58 PM

Hi Alison, I've spent the last few days tearing through your archives...I don't have kids yet, nor do most of my friends, but after looking through all your great projects, I can't wait to knit for babies and kids! It's also pretty inspiring to see how many times you're willing to rework things to get them right. Thanks for the great reading!

Posted by: anne at January 22, 2007 5:47 PM

I love the pic...they are definitely rockin' the nosewarmers.

Posted by: Christy / Not Hip at January 22, 2007 6:21 PM

Wow, this is the first time I've won a blog contest! Thanks, Alison. $2 and address sent via Paypal.

Posted by: Lorraine at January 22, 2007 7:16 PM

Love the nose hats. Your boys are so cute.

Posted by: Madame Purl at January 22, 2007 7:49 PM

Alison, I'm sooooo excited to have been chosen in your "Make Room for the Baby Stash Give-a-way." Thank you so much. I sent you an email because I need help with how to send you the $2 via Paypal. My hubby has a pay pal account on ebay can I use that?

Thanks, Tammy

Posted by: Tammy at January 23, 2007 9:43 AM

haha, those little nosehats are super cute, so are your boys. ;o)

Posted by: Maryann at January 25, 2007 12:44 AM

Nosewarmers were the only things I ever finished as a child learning to crochet! The rest of my projects ended up half-done and in a box somewhere. How cool that they're still around 25+ years later!

Posted by: Holly at January 25, 2007 8:33 PM

Like the nose warmers they are very cute. Makes them look like mice! I'm in Australia - boiling hot rather than freezing cold at present - so the idea of nose warmers rather bizzare.

Posted by: susan at January 25, 2007 9:53 PM

That is so funny!!
Greetings from a wintercold Sweden, no nosehats yet :)
