Lots of panting here. No contractions, just pants knitting.
I'll be adding some elastic to the waistband before I close the top hem and do the drawstring, since I agree with Elinor that it does help pants stay up better. And I can't help thinking it'll be more comfortable for the baby than really tying the pants snug. Ouch!
A second pair of baby pants is already in the planning stages too. I'm hooked!

Very very cute! Now she can come out ... she knows her bum will be kept warm. :)
Those are cute--I have that book (Joelle signed it for me--but she was seated so I can't tell you how tall she is! But she is very nice and designs lovely patterns). I like Shine, too. She's a lucky little baby-to-be!
We're starting to get contractions here, but really want to get to some pants knitting first!
I'd like to do the baby longies from EZ's Knitter's Almanac. I just finished up the baby kimono from Mason and Dixon.
Have you tried Evening Primrose Oil caplets? My midwife suggested 3 500-mg pills a day to help the cervix ripen and get ready for baby.
those are so adorable, they make my ovaries ache!!!
Love the picot-edged cuffs!
I made a pair for my son, I think the 6 month size? Anyways, the legs were always way too long (and still are at 9 months!). My son is very long and thin (95th percentile length, 25th percentile weight), and I swear those legs will not fit until he is at least a year. It's a good thing he is so thin though, because the waist on the 6 month size? Still fits perfectly.
Awww! Very cute -- and a good deal, too!
I made the pants (and the placket sweater) for High Energy Jenny's new baby and had much the same experience with the length. Luckily, High Energy Baby inherited his parents' loooong legs!
Yes, I wish I could work up the will to rip out the top of the pants and start the croch about an inch lower, but I can't. They'll just have to be long on wee one. I am hoping that it'll help with that pants crawl thing that always happens when you're carrying a baby, where the pants creep up their leg and their little tiny cold bare legs are always being exposed.
Very cute! And she'll be able to grow into them!
Very sweet! I may have to make a pair of these! :0)
Very cute, might be fun to do a ruffled edge on the botton of the second set instead of the picot edge.
The pants are great! I have made pants from a pattern at this website http://www.woolywonder.com/
You know what? I made those for a friend, and I saw her this weekend with her 4 month old. They fit him perfectly when he has his shoes on, and he is not really that tall. I would guess that they might fall down a little with out the shoes, but it keeps his little legs covered well.
Maybe it's best they're on the long side. Those little babies always have their legs bent like frogs, hiking pants up. The sweater peek yesterday was gorgeous - it must be so much fun!
Totally adorable! I love babies in knit pants. They look so... authentic. I'm going to make some for Beatrix for next winter. Good thing I have 6 months...
You HAVE to see this pattern for booties. Not knitting but oh so darling!

My pants were long too! I thought as much when I finished them but convinced myself that perhaps I just didn't know what size babies were....Boogers. Do I have to reknit these now before she arrives?
Cute AND Blue!!! Enough said.
GORGEOUS...for sure on the elastic...reminds of the pants I made for the Fireman doll I knit Gil.
Pants are fab. Glad to read there are larger sizes, and thanks for the tip re length. Another thing to add to my knitting list! The colour is really good too.
Those are adorable!

So darling! The blue color is very girl-appropriate.
