knit by numbers

I'm making slow but steady progress on the front of the baby geek sweater and I'll admit, it's getting more and more fun to knit. I line up all my colors in a row just like a kid's watercolor set, dip my needle into one color for one section, then into another for the next section. It even sort of looks like a painting.

Progress is slow because I don't actually have much knitting time these days, as my new job is to is to walk around most of the day and try to show this baby the way out! So no more sitting and checking emails or knitting by numbers for me right now. I'm off to enlist gravity in my quest to have a baby!

Hooray for gravity! I will keep my fingers crossed that gravity helps you out ... or more so, helps HER out, and soon!! :) Please keep us posted, I'm on pins and needles here. :)

ahhh walking! between the 4 of mine i think i could have circled the globe with all the walking. when you get desperate - try jumping jacks! :D
scarves are good to knit while on a stroll...hmmm but could be dangerous while doing the jumping jacks ;-P

Good luck with the walking. I remember doing a lot of it while I was in labor because my daughter wouldn't drop down. It's tough! Hang in there.

I'm so impressed with all of the knitting you've accomplished. I'm still working on my daughter's blankie and she's 6 months old today!

I remember scaring the neighbours each time I stopped walking during a contraction. I knew I wasn't ready to head for the hospital yet but they would've been more comfortable if I had. Good Luck!

did you pass the 40 wks that you are doing this?

Just keep walking, just keep walking...I love Dory!

I cannot wait to "meet" the little one! Your geek sweater looks awesome.

Good luck with the walking. Just keep close to home!

They come when they want to it seems. I was overdue with both of mine, so I can sympathize.

Best of luck!

Good luck, Alison. I'm guessing you are pretty close to being due so here's hoping your wee one comes soon.

Did you know that licorice can induce labor? Worth a try...

Good luck

Congratulations on getting back on your feet! Hope all the walking does the trick. :0)

What -- you can't walk and knit at the same time? ;-)

Seriously, may gravity bring wee one to you soon, and may you have a healthy and carefree delivery!

Very Van Gogh-ish. Sounds like sock knitting time to me!

Great picture. If you have time after the baby comes, you could turn that design into a pillow!

Good luck!

Ooh... so fun! It looks oh-so-cute!

Good luck and hope she comes soon! My girl turned 11 months yesterday and it has flown by. Get an exercise ball (birthing ball) and sit on that. It seemed to help with comfort and helping her drop down! I love your blog!

Best of luck, happy walking! Go gravity go!

Good luck. When my due date with my baby came and passed, I was becoming desperate. No contractions, no nothing and I was so big and uncomfortable. The hospital is on a small hill and we live quite near so I started walking up and down the hill several times a day. I figured that if I go into labor doing that, I'm safe as the hospital is close by. Well, 5 days of that and my water broke at night. I think my walking did it. :) My son was then finally born, 5 days overdue. (They don't normally induce labor here before the baby is 2 weeks overdue so I wasn't expecting help from there any time soon.)

Don't do jumping jacks - they just hurt. So does the bumpy truck ride. Mine were both late. The second one was 3 weeks late (yes, I was cranky). but both very healthy! So much for wee one being an early bird, huh?
