donkey!

Immediately after I started Otto the Owl from And So to Bed..., I realized that I didn't have enough of the main color yarn to finish him. No problem, between three local stores (including the one where I bought the yarn in the first place) and all the online stores out there, I should be able to get another ball. Or so I thought. Apparently, immediately after I started Otto everyone ran out of this shade of Rowan Cashsoft DK (appropriately called "donkey").

Finally, after weeks of waiting, the yarn came in at the Knitting Garden (love that store!) and I'm back in business.

Stripey body underway; scarf, wings and tail ready for seaming. This one's going to be so cute!

I love stripey under-bellies.

How cute is he going to be! I just received this book and Itty Bitty hats from Amazon. I love it when friends get pregnant! As the only knitter in the bunch it falls to me the great responsibility of creating a large gift box:) Otto looks like a winner--the bunny too.

I can headly wait to see your finished owl. The beginnings are looking great!

He is indeed very cute when finished. At my mum's request, I am now making a mate for her owl, along with eggs, and eventually baby owls!

I'm making the mice from Knit 2 Together and am finding that animals are so fun to knit! Check out my Mrs. Mouse (in her triathlon competition suit with her knitting) and Daughter Mouse in progress.

How much do I love that owl? How much do I love that book?! I want one of those pajama cases for myself and I don't even wear pajamas!

I love that color. I made my girlfriend a shining star hat in it and she still persists in calling it her donkeystar.

Can't wait to see the owl in its final splendour - love the striped body.

Hi Alison,

Wondering if you could let me know what sort of baby wrap you are wearing in that knitting photo? I used a hug-a-bub last time but yours looks so simple....

Thanks Rebecca.

BTW - Love the owl, I think I am going to have to make Number 2 one!!

How cute is that? The stripes are going to make it.

I love Otto the owl! I must admit to having come to somewhat of an impasse (not sure how you spell this word!!) with him though - the front is knitted, all the wings and tail bits but the back remains undone - and has been undone for 6 months now! Must finish it soon - it's for a 2nd birthday which is in May!
