otto gets lucky

Lookie, lookie, Otto the Owl has eyes now! (Okay, all of you who have knit this pattern before, I'll admit it, I forgot to give him his nose. I know. I totally missed it on the chart. Doh! I'll go back and add it later.) Otto owes all of his progress to wee one, who did this yesterday.

Yes, it's a nap. Our very first I'm-laying-you-down-awake-in-your-bed-because-it's-naptime nap. Hallelujah!

Oh, I love naps. Naps are great.

Posted by: Ruth at May 3, 2007 11:14 AM

I wish we were allowed naptime at work. She looks like naptime is the best time in the world!

Posted by: Seanna Lea at May 3, 2007 11:24 AM

Congratulations on nap time for the wee one! Wouldn't be wonderful if everyone had nap time.

Posted by: Gayle at May 3, 2007 11:27 AM

What a good girl! It's time for you to start feeling a bit more human again, remember hobbies, remember me time, remember washing dishes??? YEAH!

Posted by: Johanna at May 3, 2007 11:30 AM

Jeeze, June is over 3 months old and I have yet to successfully put her down for a nap while awake! You're so lucky!

Posted by: Bertha at May 3, 2007 11:51 AM

Oh, congratulations! There's nothing like naptime--I got all the way through law school on naptime (it makes you very efficient). Enjoy your new freedom!

Posted by: Suzanne at May 3, 2007 12:10 PM

I can hear the hallelujah choruses from here!

Naps are a beautiful thing - and hands free ones, even sweeter!

Posted by: Sonya at May 3, 2007 1:24 PM

She looks so sweet!

I love the blankets you made for your children; they're just beautiful!

Posted by: Jen S at May 3, 2007 1:32 PM

Hurray for naptime! Otto's lookin' good :)

Posted by: pennie at May 3, 2007 1:54 PM

She looks like a little angel- what a wonderful sight- and sleeping, at that! I really can't believe you can get any knitting done- absolutely amazing!

Posted by: Cynthia at May 3, 2007 2:27 PM

Yay for naptime! Maybe Otto doesn't need a nose, heheh.

Posted by: C at May 3, 2007 2:39 PM

Isn't that the best feeling when you close that door and stand in the hall for a moment holding your breath and then you realize that it worked and yes you do have TIME to do something. I usually ended up sitting. If there was knitting within arms reach all the better.

Posted by: MommyknitsJen at May 3, 2007 3:15 PM

HUGE congratulations on the nap! I know what a big thing that is. Wishing you and the little one many, many more peaceful sleeps to come :-)

Napping Baby gets as "awwwww..." on the cute-o-meter!

I think Otto would make a great back to a kid's sweater.

Posted by: Dava at May 3, 2007 5:42 PM

Sweet sweet baby girl.

Posted by: Donna S. at May 3, 2007 6:19 PM

Yay for nap time!

I still can't post on the Sockapalooza blog. I've been trying for two days, and I keep getting an error message. :(

I love how babies sleep with their arms up - my daughter did that too. Cute owl!

Posted by: Asa at May 3, 2007 7:29 PM

ah naps. I remember those. back before finals....

the wee one is soooo adorable!

Posted by: Chelsey at May 4, 2007 12:11 AM

Love the blankie. (Baby is darling, too!) Have decided to make the same blankie, in different colors, for one of my girls. Thanks for the inspiration!

Posted by: marilyn at May 4, 2007 2:15 AM

Awesome knitting. Adorable twin boys. Sweetest little baby. And you also got her to nap?

My DS is two and I still havent managed that! What an awesome Mama!

Posted by: kern at May 4, 2007 11:01 AM

You're a better mom than I am! I never got my daughter to do that. She's 8 now, so I think my use of the word "never" is justified. Cute owl, too!

Posted by: Mary Beth at May 4, 2007 11:47 AM

The beginning of a lifetime tradition. At any age there is nothing more treasured than the opportunity to take a short nap. The only thing better would be to nap with Owl. Come on Mom, finish fast!

Oh that is such a precious photo!
I just wanted to say your book came today and I love it!
I can't wait to get started - it is a toss up between Errol and the Invisibility Cloak.
