the queue

While I have been working on my pal's embossed leaves socks and starting my own monkeys, a sock knitting queue has formed. And up in front are my latest yarn acquisitions from Simply Socks.

There's some cherry red Cherry Tree Hill supersock for embossed leaves for me and a simply gorgeous skein of the new specially dyed Simply Socks colorway of Cherry Tree Hill supersock. It's fabulous! I also treated myself to a lovely set of rosewood dpns. Knitting with these is like heaven! I'm slowly collecting these in all the right sizes for sock knitting (slowly, because they are craaazy expensive!).

Coming next to the queue is an as of yet unchosen sock yarn for my second sock pal, one of those pals who didn't receive socks in the last round of sockapalooza. I want to make those really special, so it's hard to decide what yarn to use. And the more I browse sock yarn, the longer the queue gets!

LOL, yeah my queue is growing as well. Your CTH is reminding me of my own teal CTH I got for Embossed Leaves!!

{snorts}

You want expensive dpns, check out the hand-hammered sterling silver ones by the Celtic Swan that the Loopy Ewe has around (it's financially safe to tell you about these, as they typically get in a shipment & then sell out in the first 2-3 days, so they recent shipment should be long gone by now) - and here's the pricing info that I got via e-mail:

The prices are $79 (0's), $94 (1's), $109
(2's), and $124 (3's).

YEOW!!!! Needless to say, I think your rosewood dpns are a much better investment choice on your part!!!!!

I love the Lantern Moon dpns. But yu are right, the price is to the moon!

I signed up to knit for those who (hopefully not) get disappointed for this year, but do you still need some for any of the people who got left out last year? I'll do a pair.

PS. Love the yarn and I REFUSE to look at any needles... Nope, I don't need any needles nope don't need them... Darn it they're so pretty...

Lurker and first time poster here. I just purchased my first cherry tree hill superwash in the variegated green last week and I am in so in love with it.

Is it crazy to even think of making a sweater with this yarn? Maybe? Not? :-)

What a coincidence!!! I just ordered those 2 yarns (& a skein for the burgundy Supersock but no needles). How did you get yours so fast? I just got the email announcing the special anniversary yarn late yesterday.

i have a set of Colonial rosewood DPNs im not using, as i find i prefer KnitPicks better. want them? used once, for half a sock.

I ordered the Simply Socks anniversary colorway also. It's absolutely beautiful. I'm tempted to order rosewood dpns in smaller sizes. I have them in sizes 11, 13, and 15 and love using them - much better than bamboo.

I love the yarn!

I'm just a lurker, but once I saw that yarn I had to hussle over to the website and pick me up some of that beautiful stuff. I had SUCH a hard time resisting the needles as well!!

I know I'm a day late but just wanted to add my experience with pink eye. Our son had pink eye repeatedly for a while. So much so I was getting concerned that he was missing too much school. I wanted to caution you about just how contagious it is and that it can be persistent. He finally got over it and hasn't had it for a couple of years now (knock on wood).

I wasn't go to ooh and aah over L (wee one) but then I thought what mother doesn't want to hear that her baby is cute? So add my ooohing and aahing to the list. She is the cutest and so are her brothers.

Whoa! Beautiful yarn and needles. Do the rosewood bend as much as bamboo? Just in case I wanted to drop some dollars that way myself, cuz they're sure pretty...

Gorgeous yarn...especially that RED! I think I will have to try the needles, very pretty.
Have you seen Dream in Colors sock yarn? Beautiful!
