leaves: 2, monkeys: 0

Remember when my monkey sock looked like this? Well, now it looks like this...

Turns out my embossed leaves addiction was stronger than monkey madness. The monkey sock was a little too loose so it had to be frogged and then when I started knitting again, I kept thinking, wouldn't this be gorgeous as embossed leaves? I seriously want everything I knit to have embossed leaves on it now.

Oh, the power of leaves!

That's some serious knitting time you've found around there! Yeah for sleeping babies! Yeah for re-finding your knitting mojo!

It's the leaves... I can't stop knitting leaves! I don't want to sleep. I don't want to get on the computer. I only want to knit leaves!

It's a knitter's perogative to change his/her mind. :) That yarn looks very nice as leaves. :) Knitting is so wonderfully compelling, isn't it?

It seems leaves have a strong knitting mojo. I should remember that for a future design.

Of course I do love the socks in that colourway, too.

It looks gorgeous in either pattern, but I do love the leaves. :)

OK- that does it - it's embossed leaves for me too! I just finished some monkeys and was going to do another pair- BUT- i think leaves are just the thing! yours are beautiful! have a great day.

ooh pretty, alison! I know this addiction well. I was up wayyyy too late last night knittin' leaves!

I totally know what you mean. I love that embossed leaves pattern so much. For me those flew off my needles - twice. I could easily do another pair - or 2.

I love that colorway in the Embossed Leaves pattern. It works really well.

I just cast on a pair of Monkeys but put them aside until my sock pal's socks are finished. Now I'm thinking I need to find some yarn for Embossed Leaves too!

Those knit leaves are addictive--about 15 years ago they sucked me into knitting a cream-colored cardigan with gathered sleeves, just so I could make a leafy collar. Very Princess Di. I barely ever wore it (though I do still have it!).

Wow, I wouldn't have thought to put yarn and pattern together, but I love it! You know what they said about Edison and the lightbulb... ;)

ohhhh man, i want that yarn!!! love the colors!!! (uhmmm the leaves are nice too!)

Posted by: brenda at June 1, 2007 5:53 PM

And the beauty of the leaves as well!

How beautiful! After seeing all of the pretty embossed leaves, I must look and see if I have that pattern.

The colours are gorgeous! They just sing.

Beautiful colors. That is just the pattern that yarn wanted to be...

I too love the Embossed Leaves pattern. And I am currently working on a Monkey sock right now for a swap. I like it too and it works out great on Lorna's Laces. Once my pal receives her package I will post pics of the monkey sock. It's turning out rather nicely. Pretty impressed with it so far.

Oh my gosh, I LOVE the socks in that yarn!! My last two yarn purchases have been pink/orange mixes like that. Great color combo.

I love the colors though I'll admit that I miss the monkeys. They look good either way.
