fancy feet

At wee one's baby shower, I got the book Fancy Nancy, which seemed shockingly pink and fancy to me. Are girls really like this? I now know that they are. At least mine is. My girl loves shoes! Only a year and a half and I've seen her try to try on practically every kind of shoe from a way too big rain boot to a tiny Polly Pocket slipper! But her faves are always the fancy ones.

These were her summer shoes:

"Supergirl" crocs (yes, they are sparkly)

And now she's got hip boots for fall:

Pediped Giselle boots

For inside, she's got ballet slippers that my knitbuddy Lisa knit for her and gave me at the baby shower.

Zoe Mellor's stripy shoes from 50 Baby Bootees to Knit

And next, I've got to get her some of these fabulously fancy slippers from knitbud Johanna's soft-soled baby shoe store:

disco slippers!

Ooooh, she's gonna love 'em!

My daughter is a fancy lover too. Fancy Nancy is big around my house as well.

Welcome to the world of Fancy Nancy! She's gotten us in all sorts of trouble as my oldest has used her books as a sort of creative guide over the last year. Sigh.

Such adorable shoes. My girl loves shoes, hats, bags and now earrings. Frilly dresses that twirl are another love too. The pink and purple are not so favourite anymore as light blue and teal have replaced those colors which I am quite happy with at the moment.

My now 14 year old niece has had a thing for shoes since she was wee one's age. Her mother used to watch her closely at the beach because she was always eyeing the shoes on other families' blankets.

I want those boots for myself. They're fantastic!

I agree with Sarianna, these are the cutest boots EVER!!! Hope everything is fine with you. Liebe Grüße, Charis :-))

My granddaughter is sort of a fancy girl too. I was at their house when you posted the pictures of Wee One in her pink tutu & Baby M's eyes just lit up when she saw that. She loves to wear shoes & has been able to take shoes off & put them on for months now. She has a couple pairs of cute Mary Janes (mostly with at least some pink on them) & had cute white sandals this summer. She figured out how to put on socks about 7 months ago (definitely before she was 18 months old - her mother had extraordinary fine motor skills & she seems to have inherited them). The Mary Janes have velcro straps so they're easy to put on & take off. My daughter prefers that people not wear shoes in the house so there are always several pairs just inside the front door. Baby M will go to the collection of shoes & pick a pair to put on & stomp around in (since the next smallest person ever in the house is her next older brother who is 5 & big for his age, they are always huge on her). When I was there a few days ago, she noticed that I was also wearing Mary Janes (http://zeta.zappos.com/product/7372024/color/127194) that have velcro fasteners. So as soon as I took them off, she donned them & stomped around the living room. She also loves to look in my purse (I think I'll get her that book "Grandma's purse" for her BD next month) & loves to powder her nose & cheeks. All that said though, I have to admit that her 2 older brothers did most of that stuff too when they were her age. I used to put a little dab of hand cream in the older one's palm when I wanted to change his diaper because that way he would lie still & rub it on himself. Oh and she also loves dinosaurs (just like the 5 year old) & Thomas the Tank Engine (like the almost 7 year ols).

I love how it looks like she's admiring her boots :) Too cute.

I also have two boys... no girls, though, and I love it when I can make (or buy) something sweet and girlie for my friends' little girls. Such a departure from all the boy stuff.

LOL. Should be interesting to see how my daughter turns out. I was shocked to discover my son likes pinks ...and other girly style...let's hope he isn't like my MIL who has no taste what so ever.
