happy feet

A belated Valentine's present for my man...

Hubby's second pair of warm winter socks are done! The Rowan Magpie is thick and cozy, just right for the socks that hubby likes to wear around the house. Hubby washes all his socks in the machine(!) and the previous pair of Magpie socks I made him felted up ever so slightly, making them even thicker and warmer. The slight felting also strengthened the heel, making those the socks that lasted the longest. Here's hoping that these turn out to be as snuggly and as sturdy as the last pair!

I'm sorry, did you say "Hubby washes"? Seriously, 'cause it sounded like you meant to imply that he washes his own socks. I really must know whether this is true. Also would like to know the spell that you used to accomplish this!

Great legs. Yours or his?

My husband washes all his socks.... along with the rest of his clothes. He always has. We will be married for 30 years soon, and we have each always taken care of our own personal washing.

My kids were taught to do their own by the time they were teens. Yes, even my sons. They do all their own clothes, uniforms, bed and bath linens.

I only found out recently that my family is the exception. Both my husband and I were raised in households where each person (of responsible age) did their own laundry, and I never realized that in most families the women seem to do it for the entire household.

At age 50+, this was news to me!

Yes, Nic, I agree. ;0) And they're definitely NOT mine.

Too funny, Michelle! Yes, hubby (of the great legs), washes his own clothes. He does laundry for one and I do laundry for the other four of us. I'd say that in these times, that's still a pretty good deal for me!
