let me guide you to the purple rain

The purple lover's quilt is all done and she's a beauty! I only hope that the recipient (who I am sure is no Price fan) likes it. I particularly love the backing on this. I really like having one large piece of beautiful fabric on the back, especially for a quilt like this that is meant for snuggling on the sofa and not for covering a bed or hanging on a wall.

All it needs now is a label and a wash (gasp!) so it gets that wrinkly, crinkly old quilt look and it'll be on its way. Into the purple rain...

What a great mixture of hot and cool purples. I absolutely love this! Are you SURE it has a home already? Don't you think you probably would love to send it to someone you don't even know in Oregon?

That's plum beautiful. You did a grape job...

Mauve over, Kaffe Fasset, there's another quilter in town.

I'm bad about commenting regularly or if at all, but I must say it truly looks like purple rain when you look at it for awhile. You are truly talented. What a lucky person to receive this. Thanks for sharing.

That is just so beautiful! I'm sure the recipient will adore it.

I love the whole thing, but the back fabric is glorious! Lucky recipient!

Mmm, snuggley. It reminds me of looking through stained glass. Beautiful work. You can never have enough quilts in your house (or in this case, your friend's houses). Oh, and I love the after wash crinkle, too. Makes it feel more loved.

Gorgeous quilt! I am a purple (and Prince) fan. Comfy, cozy and the backing fabric is beautiful. I'm sure the lucky recipient will adore this quilt.

The best part about receiving a gift of this magnitude, is knowing that you are loved and thought about! What a great act of love and tenderness you showed. One would be honored to receive a gift like this! It is beautiful!

Wow. Just that. Wow.

That looks like a daunting amount of choices and talents. I love the single fabric quilts as well, like the Irish quilts that show up the hand stitching.

Gorgeous quilt!!! If the recipient doesn't love it, I would. ;-)

MyGuy favors flanell on the back of quilts so I try to indulge him (win him over to the warm side of the quilt).

Your purple quilt is really lovely. I am sure Prince or no Prince s/he will love it.
