yummy

Oooh, this cable and eyelet hat looks so scrumptious I just want to eat it! Doesn't it make you think of sherbet? or Easter eggs? The cables really stand out in the Lush yarn and the eyelets add such a sweet feminine touch to the hat. I'm enjoying this one very much despite the fact that I'm not quite sure about the sizing. I'm shooting for a 5 yr size and am following instructions for the child size, but am beginning to suspect that the hat will be a bit long. So far everyone in the house (except for hubby) has tried on the hat in my Goldilocks-ian quest for getting the size just right: me, wee, S and then B (even though his head is the exact same size as S's - wee one had caught on to my mission and insisted that "B try hat" too!).

Hat length is tricky but generally it's much better to be too long than too short!
Having made two hats that are just too short to cover my ears (really bothersome on very cold days)...it's much better that it be too long. You can always fold it up!
That's a sweet pattern, and you could always fold up the ribbing in case of too-longness. Can't wait for the MOVIE! Three and a fourth months to go!
Wow, that's really striking! The color is gorgeous and the pattern is perfect for the yarn!
I noticed some of the KAL's cut out some of the ribbing rows, but I'm going to knit it as written first.
Orange sherbet - definitely. Looks yummy enough to eat! I agree that a bit long is far less of a problem than too short.
I agree with Donna — orange sherbert! Wee One must be the best wee one all dressed in her handknits and even some handsewn clothes. Wonderful things all the time!
When's it going to be done?? Hurry, hurry, hurry!
The hat looks beautiful. I have made this hat, and yours looks exactly like mine, only less silver. It is a long hat, but no longer than the red Hermione hat. I like long hats.
