elizabeth iiiElizabeth I, from Alice Starmore's Tudor Roses. I loved the simple elegant lines and shaping of this sweater, so I decided to leave out the cable section in the middle. I call my version Elizabeth III because I had to knit it three times to get it right. I substituted Marks & Kattens' silky Orkide yarn for Starmore's no longer available Dunedin and had gauge problems right off the bat. Then, after reknitting and finishing, it was clear that the whole thing was just way too big. I ripped it out again and reknit it one size smaller. So much work for such a simple sweater. She's a beauty though.
