NBaTty

In other knitalong news (there are other knitalongs?!), I guess I've joined Nona's NBaT-along again. A mere one week after my big day appearing in the wrap-up, I started another t-shirt. I'm knitting this one along with my intermediate knitting students and was halfway through the waist shaping before class last night, trying desperately not to get too far ahead.

I'm considering doing long sleeves for this one. What'dya think about that?

I'd LOVE to see one with long sleeves.
Oh dear, I keep getting more and more tempted to make one ;)

And then you will post the pattern for us mathmatically-challenged types?

Posted by: Dava at June 15, 2005 9:26 AM

Good idea, since the color yarn your using is more of a winter color and the yarn appears to be of a heavier weight.

It's been my plan all along to make long sleeves - and maybe a v-neck. Did the pattern come with a long sleeve option? Can't wait to see it.
Thanks.

I agree with everyone above...long sleeve and since I tend to transpose numbers (I call it dyslexia of numbers) pattern adaptions would be super cool. Yeah I agree with leslie your yarn does look heavier...what is it? I tooled around Nona's KAL for the NBaT and seems as though most chose Calmer but I am having a problem procuring since the nearest Rowan dealer is a coupke of states over. Any suggestions for a substitution oh pattern designer?

Do you know what I wish for?? A NBaT kiddie size. Wouldn't that be great? Who votes for sending alison back to the drawing board....

Posted by: Helene at June 15, 2005 9:58 AM

Love the color! I would love to see one with long sleeves too.

Posted by: Lee Anne at June 15, 2005 9:58 AM

Yeah, I'd defintely like to see a long sleeve version!

ali...thanks so much about getting the SP2 (how's that acronym?) info out...i've contacted my pal already via their blog....eagerly awaiting a reply!

Posted by: lisa b at June 15, 2005 10:25 AM

Yes, but I think that should be a little bit bell-shaped--ala the Hourglass sweater.

Posted by: Colleen at June 15, 2005 10:32 AM

Long sleeves would definitely be good!

Posted by: Deb at June 15, 2005 10:45 AM

Yes to the long sleeves, yes to the v-neck, and a big yes to the kiddie-sized NBaT!

Posted by: Jenny at June 15, 2005 11:02 AM

Yes, Dava, of course I'll be posting my pattern mods.

The yarn I'm using is Calmer. It's the yarn I showed the other day as part of the "Harry Potter effect". If you're looking to substitute yarn, I wrote down some thoughts I had on my pattern page here.

Lisa, I think SP2 is the secret pals abbreviation. Hey, did you ever see the South Park episode where no one could pronounce Lollapalooza and they kept saying "lollapalalaza" or "lollopollolo" or "lollapablahblahblah" and funny things like that. That cracked me up!

Posted by: alison at June 15, 2005 11:06 AM

You'll tell us how to make the change, right? I'd love another and another...and a long sleeved one, too.

Posted by: margene at June 15, 2005 11:08 AM

It's look great iwth long sleeves too. Give it a shot. If nothing else you probably need a little more variety. It's all NBaT's all the time around here (in a good way of course)

Posted by: Vicki at June 15, 2005 11:59 AM

Long sleeves would be fab!

Posted by: Dani at June 15, 2005 12:12 PM

Ooh, yes, long sleeves, please! I'm nearing the end of the store model NBaT I'm making (just the neck, blocking, and embroidery to go!) and am already thinking of making one for myself. I've been debating a long, hemmed sleeve... but I love the little ringer sleeves so much! Can't wait to see what you decide.

I really like 3/4 length sleeves for tee shirts also. I don't know how To adjust patterns very much yet, but if you do figure the longer sleeves out, I'd like to try them.

LONG SLEEVES WOULD ROCK! If you make one with long sleeves can you post the pattern? I would make one for myself and just take out the waist shaping. LONG SLEEVES! LONG SLEEVES!

Posted by: D R E W at June 15, 2005 3:05 PM

I think 3/4 length would be nice for cool summer days.

Posted by: Nadia at June 15, 2005 3:07 PM

Mmmm, NBaLSTS, sounds nice. :) Post pics and a pattern addendum, will ya?

Posted by: Tracy at June 15, 2005 3:41 PM

Long sleeves would be good. I LOVE 3/4 length sleeves. Good for 3 seasons!

Posted by: Laurie at June 15, 2005 4:24 PM

I'd like to see it with long sleeves. that'd be cute.

Posted by: Christie at June 15, 2005 6:21 PM

You're NBaT knit along status has now officially changed from "honorary" knit alonger to full fledged, have a link and all knit alonger! I would go for a 3/4, slightly belled sleeve.

Posted by: nona at June 16, 2005 1:06 AM

Well, let's see. If you make long sleeves, then you'll have more to knit, and we (your intermediate students) will have a bit better chance of keeping up with you! OK, I vote for long sleeves! ;)

Seriously, though: a long-sleeve tee in that deep red would be the perfect thing, come fall....

Posted by: Linda at June 16, 2005 9:57 PM

I just finished knitting NBaT, but used heavier yarn and made a stripy one to use up all those oddballs.

I'm 5'4'' and though waist and everything was in place I felt like the top could be few cm shorter.

I have already started a jeans jacket type of knitted jacket based on NBaT idea, but I will make it a bigger sizeto fit something underneath. This time I will try to knit it all in the round, I believe that by adjusting sleeve cap a bit, it can be knit in the round with the top of body.
