weasley's weekly wizard wheezes

What an exciting week in wizard knitting it's been:

Although Amysue gave up on finishing her Azkaban scarf, she converted what she had already knitted into a fabby hat! What a brilliant idea!
Beth finished her Hogwarts scarf (and did you all see the Hermione mittens she knit in October?)
Erin made a beautiful Hermione hat
Jeanie finished her weasley and now it's the perfect length!
Kathy finished her son's "C" weasley
Lolly made a HiP scarf (and Heather looks so cute in it!)
Remember the FOUR Azkaban scarves that Margot knit? Well, they've been given to the happy recipients (Margot says she just might be Hogwarted-out for a while now.)
Patti finished her second weasley
Sharlyn made her son a beautiful weasley and is wrapping it up for Christmas

And lookie, I finished the mini-weasley tree ornament for the newest addition to my husband's family. I'd forgotten how much fun it is to make these.

(I found one ball of this discontinued color of Felted Tweed in the sale bin somewhere and after five girl mini weasleys, it's definitely dwindling. Note to the in-laws: three or four more girls and then it's gotta be boys, boys, boys.)

That ornament is so cute, Alison! I love the use of the leftover yarn. I have some leftover from the HiP scarf and was thinking some Gryffindor mittens might be quite nice ;)

Have a good weekend~

I'm curious about the little hanger that's with your mini-sweater. Do you buy or make those?

My Weasly kit finally arrived, a lovely red tweed colour, but it's currently stuffed away in a drawer, awaiting the Christmas knitting to finish. The boys are off to see the movie tonight, while I'm at home working on redecorating a bedroom. Not fair :-[

Jo, check out the comments to this post. I showed the sort of wire that I used to make the hangers back when I made all the ornaments last year. You could make them out of pipe cleaners, but if you use nice copper craft wire (and maybe some pliers to help your hands), they look just like the real thing!

Love the little sweater! So cute!

Went back and read last year's post where you showed all the mini-weasleys. Is there a pattern for those anywhere?

Mary, I used the sweater ornament pattern from Last Minute Knitted Gifts. There is also a sweater egg cosy pattern in Weekend Knitting that lots of folks are using to make ornaments. And Julia of mindofwinter has a free sweater ornament pattern on her site here.

Hey, adorable ornament! Was thinking of you all day - we went to Ikea with Maya and Zoe. Love that playland thingy - and those are the best meatballs ever! have now purchased enough stuff to create a playroom for the girls and unfortunately have a ton of Ikea related projects to complete tomorrow - no KS again! Will see you someday soon again --- if you need your DB book back soonish, just say so and I'll mail it off right away... Thea

I love the little sweater! A tree covered in those and mini scarves would be so cute sitting on a table top. A sorting hat on top? hmmmmm

Anyway, I wanted to tell you I had a great dream that you flew out here for a yarn festival and I flew there to watch the boys for a few days. They were perfect angels in the dream:)
