sops

While I was bringing the boys to school, our modem died. Hubby must have been making himself some breakfast and then decided he wanted to check email and then noticed that the internet connection was down. Then he must have pulled out all the wifi stuff to check the connection. Then he went upstairs to check the other computer and so when I came home I didn't see him at all, only the house looking a wreck with cereal boxes out and baby stuff pushed to the side to make room for the electronic equipment. It was like he'd been taken in the rapture or something!

After hassling hubby about whether we had unplugged or broken something, our provider finally came out to give us a new modem. Hooray, internet (and hubby) have been restored! Just in time for me to tell you about my sops...

Yes, I have no socks-in-progress only these sad socks-out of-progress.

Now that I've finished my sock pal's socks, do you think I'll go back and work on any of my unfinished sock projects? Will I finally finish the Gryffindor socks from Sunshine Yarns (hey, did you hear she's doing a Harry Potter sock yarn club?!)? How 'bout the awesome retro prep socks I dyed myself? Or the ice blue beauty I started from the yarn my dye buddy dyed for me? Or do you think I'll jump ahead and start my other pal's waving lace socks?

Yeah, I think so too.

Our router died this week. Must be contagious or something.

Oh, I think you should work on the retro prep socks! They're so cool!

I love those pink and green socks!!

Glad I'm not the only one with lots of socks on needles. And yes, I need to finish my 2nd sock pal's sock. Right after I finish my first Monkey...

Hey, our internet provider gave us a new modem on Monday! Someone told me Mercury was retrograde, I guess this proves it!!

I *love* the retro socks...love love love em.

Oh, no--a whole new knitting acronym! I'm not sure WOPs is likely to catch on, though, no matter how many of them we have lying around.

Thats only a rhetoric question about next sock Alison, isnt it? Waving lace sock go!

I do love the retro prep colorway, but you can always come back to them when sockapalooza's all done. Good luck w/ the waving lace socks! Can't wait to see how they turn out!!

I've got a bunch of SOPS myself! I need to hurry and finish my pal's socks so I can get my own sock drawer filled up.

I love the preppy socks! I think if you can get those done and have some left over for wee one socks that seems like a fun FO! So I say preppy socks!

When I saw SOPS, my first thought was:
Socks on Pointy Sticks.
Which is true, I guess!

I feel better since I stopped calling mine UFOs and just refer to them as 'long-time WIPs'. Yes, I know it's really the same thing, but it seems to give hope for the future.

I knit my own Waving Lace socks with the Louet Sales fingering weight (used to be called Pearl) in Grape. They didn't impress me that much while knitting them, but they fit so beautifully, and the yarn blooms delightfully after the first washing. You'll love these!

i love that retro yarn you dyed yourself. i'ma have to try my hand at that.

I love the colours of all your out of progress socks!

Posted by: Nadia Lewis at June 21, 2007 12:31 AM

Well, I guess we all know you'll start the wave socks - but finish HP - they look almost done! Love the pink and green ones too. Blue ones turned out pretty. Oh gosh, I love them ALL!

Posted by: sandra at June 21, 2007 2:11 AM

We need an "out of progress" sock swap. I'd love to finish those green and pink socks...

Posted by: Emmie at June 21, 2007 10:21 AM

I recommend writing the names of the socks on pieces of paper, putting the papers in a hat, and drawing one! There are good reasons for finishing each sock pair, so why not go random??

Posted by: gail at June 21, 2007 1:18 PM

Those socks are so lovely!!!

Posted by: Andrea at June 21, 2007 1:26 PM

Oh My Creeps, "taken in the rapture"...still laughing. How'd it feel to be Left Behind?

Posted by: Shannon B at June 21, 2007 1:33 PM

I signed up for the sock club! I think its the only way I will every get some of that fabby Griffindor Sock yarn. I have ordered Sunshine yarns before and they are LOVELY!

You should finish those socks.....or raffle off the yarn!

Posted by: suzanne at June 21, 2007 2:27 PM

Bad, bad, bad. Love the colors for the Gryffindor sock!

Posted by: Sonya at June 22, 2007 9:40 PM

LOL. Sounds like me and my hubby. Our modem was dying also...but it took hubby at least 3 wks before he decided he would call the supplier.
He just kept getting annoyed at the interupted connection.
