funky hat girl

With my funky hat in time out for coming out too small, I've moved on to making funky baby hats.

I love this "cotton children's hat" pattern from Last Minute Knitted Gifts (note: see my post about the small error in this pattern) and had some Berroco Celtic in a pretty pink and brown colorway leftover from knitting up the store's sample swatch. So I put the two together and now wee one will have the sweetest little hat ever (for her sure to be bald head!).

More funky baby hats are in the works, including that Lola hat designed by B.

Yeah for funky hats! She has to match her mama after all!

Oh, I can't wait to see what you come up with for the Lola hat -- I love all the colors he chose! (KnitPicks Palette might have all those colors). And if you're somehow able to design and knit it so it's shaped like B's offset angle, well, too cute!

Thanks for the reminder about the errata in LMKG -- I have that book and had printed the errata pages but not the cotton hat mistakes you discovered!

you never know, she might be born with a full head of hair like I was...of course I lost it all by the time I was 6 wks old or so... :-P
mind you with the weather in MA...hats are a good idea...MIL says a lot of the body heat can escape from there so it's important to keep it guarded.

What a cute baby hat! I love the colours, sometimes it's nice to have something else than "just pink" ;-)

So cute! I can't wait to see the B-designed hat!

Sheesh, I wish I had read your post about the wrong number of holes before I made a hat a few months ago- I did some weird finageling (sp?) and managed to make it look OK. You'd think they would have this noted in their errata by now...

Now that's adorable!

I've made this hat in the small size, but I'd planned on making a larger one to match the baby's big sis....thanks for catching that mistake. The designs in that book are fab, but oy! the problems!
