I wanted to make a man's cabled hat for a friend for Christmas, but there are so many patterns out there - how to find the right one fast?! Ravelry of course! In no time I found the 3am hat, a free pattern for a handsome cabled hat. It knit up great in the gray Plymouth Encore I had in my stash. My only change was to adjust the decrease rows a bit so the cables don't get shorter up at the top of the hat. A very successful last-minute gift!
