Almost two years ago my mother-in-law handed me a bag full of hubby's old high school and concert t-shirts. She asked me if I could maybe do something with them. I didn't know what to do then, but after learning how to quilt this fall, I knew I wanted to finally put them together into something special for him. I found the perfect black and white check flannel to set off the black and white tees with that 90's rock sort of look and a super soft blue jean colored flannel for the corner squares and backing. The softness of the flannel works perfectly with the soft, worn feel of the old t-shirts. The tee shirt squares are almost 15" each - that was the size of the largest image I wanted to use - making the whole quilt 55" square, a nice size for the sofa or a picnic outside even. I still have to add the binding, but hubby loves it already!
