I make something for my great aunt every Christmas, usually something small, but this year I thought I should make her a beautiful quilt. I'd just learned to quilt and loved this easy lap throw pattern from Bend-the-Rules Sewing. Since she used to do a lot of sewing, I thought that she'd appreciate a handsewn gift herself. I chose soft asian prints from Kona Bay and solids from Wilmington Prints to match her asian-style living room. The pattern is easy and fun to make and the fabrics came together so elegantly. I added an inkjet fabric quilt label to the back using instructions from Last-Minute Patchwork + Quilted Gifts.
