I spent a year thinking about making this design based on an old tennis shirt of my grandfather's. I wanted it to have the same retro style but with a flattering shape and still somehow be a classic design. In order to do it right, I chose a super-fine cotton - Dale Stork, which is sooo soft by the way - in white and did my best to replicate the ribbing and the collar of the original. I had a dyelot problem with the white and somehow managed to survive cutting and regrafting the design together in design crunch time.
